Hope for Women in Uganda

We inspire hope by strengthening a specialized Ugandan surgical team with critical equipment, training, and infrastructure so women can receive care free of charge for childbirth related injuries.

Restoring Dignity. Rebuilding Lives.

We restore dignity and rebuild lives by helping women recover from the physical suffering of devastating childbirth injuries and the isolation that often comes with them. When care is finally accessible, healing begins — and with it, a new beginning and renewed hope.

    Leading Locally

As international funding for women’s health continues to decline, access to specialized care is becoming harder to reach for women with childbirth-related injuries. In this shifting landscape, locally led solutions matter more than ever.

The Musa Project supports Ugandan surgeons in delivering care where it is needed most—strengthening local leadership, expanding reach through surgical camps, and helping ensure women are not left behind simply because care is out of reach.

When surgical care is limited, even the most skilled teams are constrained by space. At Lira Regional Referral Hospital in Northern Uganda, women suffering from childbirth-related injuries were being treated in an overcrowded 12-bed ward—far too small to meet the need.

Rather than accepting those limits, The Musa Project stepped in to help expand what was possible. By supporting the construction of a new surgical ward, we are helping transform care from overcrowded and constrained to dignified, safe, and sustainable.

Today, that vision is nearly complete. With an investment of approximately $200,000, this expanded ward will allow more women to receive timely care, reduce waiting times, and heal in an environment designed for recovery—not crisis. It is a lasting investment in locally led care, built to serve women for years to come.
